Victory Sports Club defeated Kuda Henveiru United by 3-1, to reach the semi-final of the ongoing FAM MPL 2nd Division Football Tournament.
The match result was finalized after an emergency committee meeting, which was held yesterday.
In the game, Victory SC was leading after goals from Mohamed Umair, Faroukh Khaydarov, and a penalty from Anatoly Vlasichev. Ali Shamal Abdulla scored a well-taken goal for Kuda Henveiru Utd.
Into the final ten minutes of the game, Victory SC and Kuda Henveiru players collided after a foul, later it was a brawl between fans of the clubs and officials. Victory SC midfielder Anatoly was assaulted and Coach, Sobah Mohamed (Soba) was also attacked.
The game was stopped, and couldn’t continue on the same day. Yesterday, the FAM Emergency Committee initially decided to resume the game today, from where it was stopped. Also, the game was set to resume as a closed-door fixture.
Later, Kuda Henveiru Utd opted not to continue the game, and Victory SC was awarded a spot in the semi-final. In the semi-final, Victory SC is set to face their arch-rivals New Radiant Sports Club. The game is scheduled for next Monday.
